Summary

Description
English: Polychrome Plate. Republic Period, 1911 - 1949, from the Jingdezhen Kiln in Jiangxi. Sichuan Provincial Museum

The plate shows a swirling phoenix and dragon on either side of a central flaming pearl. The museum label describes the work as cloisonne, but metal cloisons can't be seen in this photo. Rather, it looks as if the colored areas were outlined in red, to produce a faux-cloisonne effect.
