Summary

Description
English: Shematic "roadkill" diagram of the ethenium cation (positive ion) C2H5+, also called "protonated ethylene". It is a carbocation, one of the simplest carbenium ions (after methenium CH3+). The structure was disputed for many years, but eventually it was agreed that it is an example of a "non-classical" molecule, with a 2-electron 3-center bound. (Ref: G. Olah, several papers)
