DescriptionCheltenham (Malvern Road) station geograph-2602456-by-Ben-Brooksbank.jpg
English: Down freight on the ex-GWR main line from Birmingham at Cheltenham (Malvern Road) station.
View northward, towards Honeybourne, Stratford-on-Avon and Birmingham; also the branch to Cheltenham (St James') went off to the right just north of this station. The locomotive is Stanier 8F 2-8-0 No. 48450, one of the 80 built at Swindon Works in 1943-45 and kept on the GWR/BR(WR); most were taken over by the LMSR in 1947, but a number were returned to the WR later - this being one of the latter.
