Description U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and U.S. Representative Cathy McMorris meeting with stakeholders during a groundbreaking ceremony for a new Plant Sciences Building that will house scientists from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Research Service (ARS) and Washington State University (WSU) on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. USDA’s Agricultural Research Service and Washington State University hosted the ceremony for the new building that will be located on the campus of WSU. Research at the new facility will focus on improving the health, sustainability, and profitability of dryland and irrigated agriculture in the Pacific Northwest.
