Description
English: Carmelo Coal and Land Company was formed in 1874 and was closed in 1898. It was located on the north bank of the upper reaches of Malpaso Canyon near Point Lobos, California. Remnants of the headframe and windlass for hauling mine cars are still visible in this image. The collapsed water tank above the headframe supplied a boiler with water.
