The monument is an obelisk on the top of the hill in the middle of the picture. It's easy to see if you zoom in, but may be hard to see at small image sizes.

This monument was delivered to its current resting site by Captain Robert (Bob) Bartlett and his crew aboard the Effie M. Morrissey, sailing out of Cupids, Newfoundland in 1932. The erection of this obelisk was overseen by Master Stone Mason, Alexander W. Wells, of Salmon Cove, Conception Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador. The funding for this expedition to erect Robert Peary's Monument at Cape York, Greenland was provided by the Peary Family and their supporters. In 1956, National Geographic Magazine conducted an interview with Alexander W. Wells with regards to this particular expedition as the details related to the life and adventures of Captain Robert Bartlett.
