Callistemon citrinus A vigorous, medium sized Bottlebrush whose leaves smell of lemon when crushed. This specimen is growing in my garden in West Sussex - although it was cut down to the ground during the harsh winter of 2008/09, it soon sprouted new shoots, and has grown about a metre in the year following. It does not have a specific flowering period, although it is at its peak during the summer.
This photo was taken before the hard winter. It had previously grown happily through several "normal" winters.
