Call of Juarez

Portion used

The entire screenshot: because the image is taken from the game, the entire image is needed to identify the product, properly convey the meaning and branding intended, and avoid tarnishing or misrepresenting the image.

Low resolution?

The copy is of sufficient resolution for commentary and identification but lower resolution than the original screenshot. Copies made from it will be of inferior quality, unsuitable as artwork on pirate versions or other uses that would compete with the commercial purpose of the original artwork.

Purpose of use

Other. The image is used for identification in the context of critical commentary of the work for which it serves as screenshot. It makes a significant contribution to the user's understanding of the article, which could not practically be conveyed by words alone. It is used to illustrate some aspects of game the as discussed in the article. The image shows a duel taking place; the only time the game goes into third-person. Players must keep the character's hand as close to their gun as possible using the left analog stick or keyboad (speed is currently at 21.6%), whilst simultaneously using the right analog stick or mouse to keep the targeting wheel hovering over the opponent (focus is currently at 38.2%). Players can wait until their opponent draws first, or they can draw as soon as a heartbeat can be heard. The image highlights these aspects in a way the article text itself could not describe as intricately, and thus enhance the reader's understanding of the prose. Use for this purpose does not compete with the purposes of the original artwork, namely the creator providing graphic design services to relevant concerns and video game marketing to the public.

Replaceable?

As a screenshot, the image is not replaceable by free content; any other image that shows the packaging of the item in question would also be copyrighted, and any version that is not true to the original would be inadequate for identification or commentary.

Other information

Use of the screenshot in the article complies with Wikipedia non-free content policy and fair use under United States copyright law as described above.
