Summary

Description
English: According to the guides at Rocklin History Museum across the street, the masts seen here were salvaged from ships abandoned in San Francisco during the gold rush. They were used as cranes (with additional, diagonal beams) to move heavy pieces of granite around. A spur off the nearby transcontinental railroad was used to transport the finished granite slabs to customers around the country.
