Rama was at loss to take the monkey army across the ocean. The king of the sea did not oblige. Rama decided to dry up the ocean with his powerful arrows. The sea-king lost heart and came up. Bowing to Rama he requested that a passable bridge may be built across, which he will support with all his might. The ape-army then started building the bridge.
