Description

Casa Scânteii, currently called Casa Presei Libere (House of the Free Press), is a building located in the north of Bucharest, at the entrance of the Băneasa district. The name of the building (which housed the country's main printing house) comes from the name of the Scînteia (Spark) newspaper, the main written propaganda tool of the Romanian Communist Party.

Between 1956–2007, the building held the record for the tallest structure in the city.
