DescriptionBroadway Br with green streetcar - view from south approach viaduct (2012).jpg
The Broadway Bridge (in Portland, Oregon) is a bascule-type drawbridge that was completed in 1913 and is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. In this view from the bridge's southern approach viaduct, on Broadway, a streetcar (car 003) of the Portland Streetcar system is entering the bridge, eastbound on the CL Line, which opened in 2012. The Broadway Bridge previously carried streetcars from 1913 to 1940. In the foreground are the roofs of the platform "sheds" (shelters) along the tracks used by Amtrak trains at Union Station. The stairway at right goes to NW Naito Parkway.
