Figure 2. Schematic diagram. Bose's apparatus demonstrated to the Royal Institution in London in 1897. The waveguide radiator is affixed on top of the transmitter at left. In addition, a pyramidal electromagnetic horn antenna is first used by Bose. This horn antenna acts as a "collecting funnel" (F) for the electromagnetic radiation of interest.
