English: Stele of promise. Also called kakosbos, these stelae were used as a means of keeping one’s promise to the gods upon the realization of a wish. In general they show a horseman, holding the club of Hercules, riding to the right. On their pedestal the nature of the wish, name of the person who had the wish, and the name of the god to whom was vowed are inscribed.
I have seen very many more in the Fethiye museum where I took a picture of a sign with the kakosbos explanation hence I think I can safely state this must be another one.
