English: Bilston Central Station. Near to Bilston, Wolverhampton, Great Britain. View SE, towards Birmingham (Snow Hill); Birmingham (Snow Hill) - Wolverhampton (Low Level) - Shrewsbury etc. Main (ex-GWR) line. The station (plain 'Bilston' until 19/7/50) and line closed (Birmingham - Wolverhampton) on 6/3/72. However it is now (since 1999) a stop on the new Midland Metro. (When this photograph was taken in 1962, the Goods station, surrounded by factories, was still very active). |
