English: Supplying ammunition to the Japanese soldiers in the trenches. This photograph was taken during the battle of Motienling Pass, while the Japanese troops were actually under fire from the Russians and firing at their enemy. Motienling Pass – the „Thermopyle of Manchuria“ – is at the summit of the watershed which seperates the Yalu valley from the valley of the Liao.
