Description Arthonia radiata (Pers.) Ach., 1808 (photograph of a herbarium specimen taken through a dissecting microscope (x9) showing star-like clusters of ascomata) Growing on the bark of Red Oak in an open woods, 2.2 miles W of U. M. Biological Station on C-64, Cheboygan County, Michigan, USA; collected and identified by Richard E. Riefner (No. 81-209, 22 Jun 1981); specimen is now in the Lichen Herbarium of the New York Botanical Garden.
