Español: El obispo Juan Arias Dávila contrata a Juan Guas para la construcción del nuevo claustro de Santa María (1471), siendo irrecuperable el claustro románico. Afortunadamente, es trasladado magistralmente a la Catedral Nueva, cuyo tracista, Juan Gil de Hontañón, admiraba la obra de éste. El traslado correspondió al abulense Juan Campero el viejo (1524) disponiendo de la autorización del mayordomo de fábrica, canónigo, Juan Rodríguez de Noreña y con el visto bueno por finalización de obras de García de Cubillas (1529). Hanequin de Bruselas, contemplando este claustro, sentiría satisfacción por el nivel alcanzado por Waas. |
