Notes This drawing is notable for its rich modelling in pen and ink with various shades of brown wash that contribute to a subtle chiaroscuro. It closely corresponds in composition to a three-quarter length painting produced by Van Dyck in 1621-22 that is now in the Hermitage Museum, St Petersburg (inv. no. 6922) [1]
