Title
Anglo-Saxon ceramic loomweight
Description
English: Fragment of an Anglo-Saxon ceramic loomweight. The weight was annular in plan and sub-triangular in cross-section. It has an irregular surface and is dark brown/black in colour. The fabric appears to be quite crudely made; the breaks show a structure that reveals frequent irregular shaped voids, perhaps suggesting that it was tempered with organic materials.
