Deutsch: Das alte Rathaus wird urkundlich erstmals Anfang des 14. Jahrhunderts erwähnt. Vieles deutet darauf hin, dass es ursprünglich als wehrhafte Stadtresidenz der Kuenringer diente. Die Zwettler Bürgerschaft kaufte es 1483, um es als Rats- und Gerichtsgebäude zu nutzen. Es handelt sich um einen mehrfach umgestalteten, breit gelagerten Giebelbau mit leicht vorgezogenem Giebelturm und gotischem Baukern. Bei einer Restaurierung im Jahr 1976 wurden an der Fassade Sgraffitomalereien aus der Mitte des 16. Jahrhunderts freigelegt.
