Description
English: Admiral Sunil Lanba, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) visited Eastern Naval Command (ENC) from 10 to 11 March 2018. The CNS was received by Vice Admiral Karambir Singh Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, ENC at INS Dega. During the visit, Admiral Lanba addressed the Officers and Sailors of naval units at Visakhapatnam. He emphasised the need for ships, submarines and air squadrons to be combat ready at all times and called upon all men and women to be alive to the fact that being the largest maritime power in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR), the mantle of being the Net Security Provider in the Indian Ocean fell upon the Indian Navy. Later the CNS visited INS Kalinga and INS Karna and was briefed on the activities of these units.
