Description
English: Abbie Lathrop was a former school-teacher turned mouse fancier who was critical in the development of the C57Bl/6 and DBA inbred mouse strains. Her research with Leo Loeb between 1910-1918 was among the first to demonstrate the heritability of cancer. This is the only high quality photograph of Miss Lathrop taken for an article in The Springfield Weekly Republican.
