Description
English: Three U.S. Navy Douglas AD-4 Skyraiders of attack squadron VA-115 Arabs get ready to launch from the aircraft carrier USS Philippine Sea (CV-47) in September 1950. The Philippine Sea with Carrier Air Group Eleven (CVG-11) embarked was deployed to Korea from 5 July 1950 to 26 March 1951. Behind the AD-4s are Vought F4U-4Bs of fighter squadron VF-114 Executioners, two F4U-5Ns (with the white radar housing on the right wing) of composite squadron VC-3 Det.3 Blue Nemesis, and Grumman F9F-2 Panther jets of VF-111 Sundowners and VF-112 Fighting Twelve.
