Typed on back: "Photographs of the first Vingt et Un, for which the sensational speed of 26 miles per hour was claimed in November of 1903.
Owners Smith & Mabley never entered the boast [sic] in a race, but widespread publicity of Vingt et Un's performance touched off an 'autoboat' craze that lasted for several years."
