한국어: '한지장(韓紙匠)'이란 전통한지를 제작하는 장인을 말한다. 한지는 닥나무와 황촉규(黃蜀葵)를 주재료 하여 고도의 숙련된 기술과 장인의 오랜 경험을 바탕으로 완성된다. 닥나무를 베고, 찌고, 삶고, 말리고, 벗기고, 다시 삶고, 두들기고, 고르게 섞고, 뜨고, 말리는 아흔아홉 번의 손질을 거친 후 마지막 사람이 백번째로 만진다 하여 옛사람들은 한지를 '백지(百紙)'라 부르기도 하였다. |
