外交部長吳釗燮本（107）年11月16日中午頒發『大綬景星勳章』予澳洲蒙納士大學榮譽退休教授家博（Dr. J. Bruce Jacobs），表彰他長期對臺灣民主及臺澳雙邊關係的努力與貢獻。
吳部長致詞時特別強調，家博教授不僅是一名學者，更是臺灣歷史的一部分。他從早期黨外運動觀察家的身分，至遭誣控為林宅血案嫌疑人，再轉型為臺灣認同與民主化的研究者，親身經歷臺灣脫離威權統治、成功轉型為民主社會的過程。
吳部長表示，雖然距離家博教授首次訪臺已相隔53年，但他對臺灣的熱愛與付出始終不變。家博教授長期以來持續發表有關臺灣政治發展及民主化的著作及專論，並以澳洲蒙納士大學（Monash University）名譽教授的身分，努力不懈地教育下一代學生，使其認識臺灣在國際社會中的角色與價值。

吳部長強調，多年來家博教授對增進臺澳關係貢獻良多，自他早年參與「澳中理事會」，致後期推動臺澳學術交流，家博教授的努力與付出充分反映臺澳之間共享的理念與價值，是臺灣堅定的友人。家博教授對我國的熱愛與貢獻，深獲臺灣人民感謝，並將牢記不忘。（E）
