中文（臺灣）：在日治時代1932年開幕的〝五棧樓仔〞，裡面有著當時最先進的流籠(電梯)，當時的中正路一帶稱之為末廣町，是台南早期非常熱鬧的地段，但隨著日治時代過去，經營者回去日本，林百貨也就此沉寂，經過近半個世紀，台南人已經忘了它當初的風光。修復後過了一年，2014年6月14日林百貨又以百貨公司的身分在府城重生了！
English: Built in 1932, it was the biggest department store in Tainan and the local once called it "Wu Ceng Lou Zi' (Owhich literally means five-story building). It was named after its Japanese owner, Mr. Hayashi, as visitors can see the character, Hayashi, shown on the window of the building. The first elevator in Tainan sits in this department store. |
