Български: Съцветия на върба, р. Поповска южно от Елхово. English: Willow tree, that in my view matches with the distinctive characteristics, given for Salix euxina: twigs are lustrous, yellowish, with winter buds blackish (striking contrast), tree form is widely round, the bark is light and longitudinally fissured to scaly, leaves are elliptic-lanceolate, leathery, green and shiny on the top and generaly green below. Twigs are brittle. The habitat in Southeastern Bulgaria is in the periphery of this new species' estimated natural area of occurrence. |
