Durrës District

Durrës District (Albanian: Rrethi i Durrësit) was one of the 36 districts of Albania, which were dissolved in July 2000 and replaced by 12 counties. It had a population of 182,988 in 2001, and an area of 455 km2 (176 sq mi).[1] The district seat was the city of Durrës. Its territory is now part of Durrës County: the municipalities of Durrës and Shijak.
