Y2K is the forthcoming debut studio album by American rapper Ice Spice. Set to release in 2024, the album is expected to be released under 10K Projects, Capitol Records, and Dolo. It is possible she will put her previously released commercially successful collaborations on it, but information about that remains unknown.

Background and development edit

American rapper Ice Spice's career had humble beginnings, as she started rapping in 2021 and released a few songs.[1][2] In September 2022, she signed a record deal with 10K Projects and Capitol Records.[3] Ice Spice gained popularity during the release of her debut extended play, Like..? (2023).[4] Ice Spice achieved four top 10 hits on the US Billboard Hot 100—"Boy's a Liar Pt. 2" with PinkPantheress, "Karma" by Taylor Swift, and "Princess Diana" and "Barbie World" with Nicki Minaj.[5] Her debut studio album is one of the hottest and most anticipated albums of the 2020s, the decade during which it will be recorded and released. It is possible Ice Spice will put her previously released commercially successful collaborations on it, but information about that yet remains unknown.

On January 31, 2024, Spice cleared up the confusion and announced that the album, titled Y2K, will arrive in 2024. Despite probably being recorded during the 2020s, it is expected to pay homage to the 2000s because of its title. She has stated that it is almost finished, and a "crazy collaboration" had been "locked in" two days prior to the interview being conducted.[6][7]
