Dr. Senthil Natesan currently serves as the Director of the Centre for Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore.[1].

Career and Contributions

As a molecular plant breeder, Dr. Senthil Natesan has significantly contributed to the millet breeding program, leading to the development of nine high-yielding millet varieties. These varieties include:

  • Finger Millet: Year of Release - 2004 Co(Ra) 14 and ALT1[2]
  • Foxtail Millet: ear of Release - 2005 CO(Te)7 [2]

These varieties have been released through the Central Variety Release Committee (CVRC) for commercial cultivation .

Innovative Teaching Techniques
