Roofman is an upcoming American crime film directed by Derek Cianfrance and starring Channing Tatum.

Premise

The film is a biopic of the fugitive Jeffrey Manchester, a former United States Army Reserve, known colloquially as Roofman due to his propensity to steal from branches of McDonald's after entering their premises via the roof, and evaded capture from police by hiding in the roof of a Toys "R" Us store.^[1]

Production

The project was announced in February 2024 with Derek Cianfrance as director from a script he wrote alongside Kirt Gunn. Dylan Sellers and Chris Parker will produce through the Limelight production company allomgside Jamie Patricof and Lynette Howell Taylor. Channing Tatum is set to play Roofman.^[2]

Filming

Principal photography is scheduled to begin in October 2024, in North Carolina, and it is expected to wrap in December.^[3]
