Rashmi Khanna is a distinguished Bharatnatyam dancer, guru, choreographer, and special educator. As the Director and founding member of Kalyani Kala Mandir (KKM),[1] she has significantly contributed to the proliferation of Indian classical arts.
Career
editRashmi began her training in Bharatnatyam at the age of seven under Guru Smt. Kalyani Shekar, adopting the Dandayudapanipillai style. She holds a master's degree in Performing Arts from the World University of Design, Sonipat, and has diversified her dance expertise to include Kathak, Chhau, Odissi, and various Western dance forms.[2]
Training and Mentorship
editRashmi has trained extensively in Bharatnatyam and Carnatic music under renowned gurus,[3] and continues to perform and teach at KKM, which she founded in 2002.[4]
Performances and Choreography
editShe has performed at prestigious festivals both in India and internationally, including the Asian Youth Festival, Seoul.[4] Her choreography often blends classical, folk, and modern dance forms, showcasing her versatility.
Special Education
editWith a PG Diploma in Special Education, Rashmi has worked as a special educator in the Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute, Sanskriti School,[5] volunteered at the Mother's International school and continues to support children with special needs. editHer husband, Anshuman Khanna, is a Lawyer and Chartered Accountant by qualification and Director of ANG Group[16] which has business presence in Financial Advisory, Real Estate, Travel and Investments. Anshuman possesses over 20 years' experience in the areas of investment banking and financial advisory. He has advised for transactions involving complex and multi-jurisdictional mergers and acquisitions with aggregate value exceeding USD 5 bn. He also has decades of experience in investing across asset classes ranging from listed equities, startups, real estate and structured debt. He has authored Equity.in which is an acclaimed book giving insights on investing in equities specifically in the Indian markets.[17]
