History

edit

The company was founded in 2015 as Mint SIM, a subsidiary of Ultra Mobile, by Ultra Mobile founder, and Rizwan Kassim.[3]

In November 2019, the corporate spin-off of the company from Ultra Mobile was completed[4] and Ryan Reynolds acquired 20–25% ownership in it.[5] Reynolds and founder Glickman both served on the board of directors for The Michael J. Fox Foundation, and Glickman was impressed with Reynolds' marketing for Deadpool.[2]

In May 2024, T-Mobile US acquired Mint Mobile, with Ryan Reynolds and other employees remaining in the management of the Mint Mobile business unit.[6][7][8][9][10][11]
