Sebastian Charles, known professionally as Jaivah, is a Tanzanian singer and songwriter. He is widely known for blending Bongo Flava and South Africa's Amapiano in his music.

Early life
editJaivah was born and raised in Mburahati area in Dar es Salaam. He is the older brother of the award-winning Tanzanian producer Abbah Process.[1]
His love for music started in primary school when he met a music producer named Mtani who taught him how to use the A4 studio music program.[2]
Career
editJaivah started his career in 2015 when he released his debut single titled "Jaiva" which became an instant hit and earned a remix from the heavyweight Tanzanian rapper, Joh Makini. Since then he went on to work with different Tanzanian artists such as Gigy Money, Darassa, Country Wizzy, Maua Sama and Hanstone among others.[3][4]
After signing with Bxtra Records in 2022, Jaivah released his smash hit titled "Soup"[5] featuring Marioo and Chino Kidd. The song became and made him a household name in Tanzania.[6]
Jaivah emerged as the winner of the 2023 Dozen Selection Awards where he won the People's Choice Awards category. Other winners of the 2023 Dozen Selection Award Show include Diamond Platnumz, Marioo and Harmonize.[7]
His song Buruda featuring Marioo stayed atop the Tanzanian Apple Music charts for three weeks straight and became the most shazamed Tanzanian song in is debut week[8]
