Cannibal is a song by the American rock band Tally Hall from their 2011 album Good & Evil.[1] The song was written and sung by Zubin Sedghi, the bassist/vocalist of Tally Hall.
Cannibal also has a demo version, released on their 2015 album "Admittedly Incomplete Demos",[2] which includes changed lyrics from the Good & Evil release.[3][4]

The first known instance of the song being recorded comes from BORALOGUE, a series of clips and concerts from Bora Karaca, friend of Tally Hall[5] and fellow musical artist.[6] In BORALOGUE IX (9), the instrumental of Cannibal is heard playing in the background at around 0:37.[7]
The first record of Cannibal being played live was at Slim's, on November 29th, 2009. Joe Hawley, the lead singer of Tally Hall, wrote down their set list for the show on a napkin,[8] which included Cannibal, among other Good & Evil tracks, such as Sacred Beast[9] and A Lady.[10]
The first confirmed playing of Cannibal was at Hawthorne Theater on December 1st, 2009,[11] nearly two years before it was officially released.[12]
Meaning edit
The general theory among fans[13][14] is that Cannibal is about the singer suffering from an abusive relationship, similar to Misery Meat by Sodikken.[15] This is evidenced by the fact that the cannibal is referenced by "she" (Ex: "She rips out my bones like I'm an animal"),[3][4] and that Tally Hall has made songs about relationships before, such as The Whole World and You[16] and Two Wuv[17] (about having a crush on Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen),[18] and listedBlack (a band Zubin was in before Tally Hall) released a 2002 EP titled "Songs About Girls".[19]
This theory, however, is false. According to Zubin Sedghi (writer/singer of Cannibal) in the June 15th, 2011 Ustream listening party, "It's about being very hungry and having no other options."[20]
