Aniradioplus (also stylized as AniRadio+) is a website covering news about anime, manga, and Japanese popular music within Southeast Asia and Japan. The website also offers reviews and editorial content surrounding the anime culture. The website is produced by Aniradio Plus Web Content Publishing[7] and was launched in December 2019.[6] Headquartered in Makati, Philippines[8], the website is operated by AniradioPlus Inc.[3] and is headed by its founder and editor-in-chief Jei Beltrano.[4]

History edit

Initial foundation, website launch and rebrand edit

Aniradioplus initially started as a radio subdivision of Anime Corner Philippines as Anime Radio on Facebook in 2016.[a] It was later then shortened to AniRadioPH and rebranded to AniRadio+ in 2019[9] which led to the website's launch. AniRadio+ saw another rebrand to Aniradioplus in 2021. The Facebook page is led by founder Jei Beltrano.

Opportunity for aspiring anime reviewers edit

In November 2020, Aniradioplus opened opportunities for anime reviewers to join the team on Facebook, with perks including "free unlimited subscription access to legal anime streaming sites, cash incentives per review, and the chance to join future events as organizers." The website then caught the attention of local media outlets GMA Network[2] and Inquirer Entertainment[1], giving the website enough traction to expand. The application closed in December 2020. The chosen reviewers were also revealed in the same month.

Aniradioplus has since offered news, stories, and reviews about anime and other related culture and has appeared on ComicBook.com[10], Mothership.sg[11], IGN Southeast Asia[12] and more.

Aniradioplus and other ventures edit

In 2021, Aniradioplus was incorporated under the business name AniradioPlus Inc.[8] and launched its sub-business venture ISEKAI.[3]

In 2023, the website saw significant changes in the site's appearance, as well as a logo overhaul, resulting in frequent maintenance. The maintenance has caused the website to temporarily hide access to its content from the public. Following the website's continued maintenance, the anime outlet announced on its Facebook page that it will be introducing Anirad, The outlandr., and Game Unplugged as media divisions for expanded coverage on Anime and J-Pop culture, Travel, and Gaming.[5] The announcement included with a roadmap on when the media divisions will be available.

In 2024, the website is still under maintenance, although the outlet continues to operate as usual on its Facebook page.[13]
