Count Flemming of Rosenborg

Count Flemming Valdemar Carl Axel of Rosenborg (9 March 1922 – 19 June 2002) was a former Danish prince.

Prince Flemming was the youngest son and child of Prince Axel of Denmark (himself a son of Prince Valdemar of Denmark) and Princess Margaretha of Sweden.[1]

He renounced his rights to the throne and his princely title and style on 14 June 1949 and took the title of Count of Rosenborg. He served in the Royal Danish Navy as a Commander War Captain.[1] He was the Director and BFM at Kalk- & Mørtelværkerne A/S and A/S Carl Nielsen, Sand- & Gruskompagni (Calkas) in Copenhagen.[2]

Count Flemming of Rosenborg had four children and ten grandchildren.

He married Alice Ruth Kai Nielsen (Frederiksberg, Copenhagen, 8 October 1924 – 25 July 2010), daughter of Kai Nielsen (Copenhagen, 5 October 1893 - 28 June 1967), Administrator Director of A/S Carl Nielsen, Sand- & Gruskompagni, A/S Kalk- & Mørtelværkerne and H. Poulsen & Co. A/S (Calkas) in Brinken, Springforbi, and his wife Edith Fischer (31 May 1896 - 1978), in Holmens Kirke, Copenhagen, on 24 May 1949,[3][4] and had four children:[1]

  • Count Valdemar Georg Flemming Kai Axel of Rosenborg (b. Copenhagen 24 January 1950),[1] Civil Economist H.A., Administrator Director of Calkas A/S,[5] he married Jane Glarborg (b. Hörup, 17 September 1950) in Oxholm Gods, Aabybro, on 24 May 1975 and divorced in 1986 or 1987, daughter of Major Steen Glarborg and wife Kirsten Vibeke Hansen; they had two children. He married Jutta Beck (b. Copenhagen, 9 November 1958), Civil Economist, Cand.merc.aud., Certified Public Accountant, Director of Finance and Economics in ALB-Abello A/S (CHL) in Rungsted Kyst,[6] daughter of Villy Beck, Cand.agro., Head of Department, and wife Tove Kohl Lauritzen, Clerk, in Høsterkøb Kirke, Høsterkøb, on 10 December 1988;[7] they had two children.

Helleruplund, 3 July 1949) in Skovshoved Kirke, Skovshoved, on 19 October 1974, daughter of Niels Benedict Tillisch (Copenhagen, 26 September 1912 - ), Branch Manager in Gentofte, and wife (m. Skjødstrup, 1 December 1945) Countess Dagmar Sophie Elé Knuth af Christiansdal (18 March 1915 - 20 June 1975), enrolled in the Noble Diocese of Vallø,[8] and had one daughter.[1] He divorced in 1978 and married secondly Susanne Kristensen (Copenhagen, 13 February 1951 - Thisted, 22 October 1999) in Taarbæk on 28 November 1981. They divorced in 1990. He married thirdly Lynne Denise Sharpe (b. Sheffield, 10 June 1953) at St. Peter's Church, Woolton, on 4 March 2000.

He married Lisa Jeanne Stollar on 20 September 2013 and they divorced in 2016. He married Vanessa Wilson, née Barker in 2023.

She married Peter Rindom (b. Copenhagen, 10 October 1955) in Gentofte on 6 February 1988 and they had two sons, Peter Rindom (b. 13 September 1988) and Philip Rindom (b. 6 November 1990).
