Alpine cool-skink

The alpine cool-skink (Carinascincus greeni),[2] also known commonly as the northern snow skink, is a species of lizard in the family Scincidae. The species is endemic to Tasmania in Australia.

Etymology edit

The specific name, greeni, is in honor of Tasmanian ornithologist Robert "Bob" Green.[3]

Habitat edit

The preferred natural habitats of C. greeni are rocky areas and freshwater wetlands, at altitudes higher than 1,000 m (3,300 ft), above the tree line.[1]

Reproduction edit

C. greeni is ovoviviparous.[2] Litter size is two or three newborns.[1]
