"Al Salām al-amīrī" (Arabic: السلام الأميري, transl. Amiri Salute) was the first national anthem of Kuwait, written in 1951. Its usage was discontinued in 1978. The style is very typical of the "Arab fanfare" as a style in use in the area at that time.,[1] and was composed by Yusuf Adees.
