Aleksandr Vasliyevich Surikov (Russian: Александр Васильевич Суриков; 5 April 1956 – 11 May 2024), was a Russian diplomat who served as an ambassador to Mozambique from 2017 until his death in 2024.[1]

Surikov was born on 5 April 1956.
On 29 July 2017, he was appointed Ambassador of Russia to Mozambique.[2]
On 16 February 2018, he was also appointed the part-time Ambassador of Russia to Eswatini.[3]
Death edit
Surikov was found dead in his residence in Maputo on 11 May 2024, aged 68.[4][5] According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he died from a stroke.[5] However, the Mozambique police cite other possibilities, while Russian authorities denied an autopsy.[5]
