Southeast Asian (SEA) players who have acquired at least 3 international caps for their senior national team can play in the Super League without any restrictions. However, SEA players with less than 3 international caps must be approved by the Malaysian Football League (MFL).

Each team in the Super League can register 9 foreign players, but only 6 import players can be fielded at any one time. The 6 import players must consist of 4 foreign players, 1 Asian player, and 1 ASEAN player. Only 1 import player can be on the bench.[14] Clubs participating in the ACL Elite, ACL Two and/or ACGL are allowed to register 10 foreigners. [15]
