English: A sketch of the eight Haitian Vooodoo devotees found guilty in 1864 in the affaire de Bizoton. The original image was published in James Redpath, 'The Civil War in Hayti' (Harper's Weekly, 2 September 1865), p. 545, and was captioned: 'Votaries of the God Vaudoux (Snake-Worshipers), Executed for the Crim of Cannibalism at Hayti.'
